Barometer
Welcome to the Tampa Bay Builders Association!
As a TBBA member, each month you will receive a copy of Building Barometer, the official monthly newspaper of the Tampa Bay Builders Association.
Building Barometer is mailed directly to every TBBA member, key business professionals, and VIPs in government and community service.
More than 6,000 people read Building Barometer each month. Features include local, state and national building industry news; coverage and promotion of TBBA events; news about our members; lists of new and renewing members; and much, much more.
Our company, Potato Communications, has partnered with TBBA members and staff to produce Building Barometer. We also work with other local builders associations around the state as well as the Florida Home Builders Association to produce award-winning newspapers.
Over the last 10 years, we have discovered that there are four things you can do to measurably increase your business among association members. The first one is easy, and it’s done:
- Join your local builders association: Being a part of the local association tells the world you are a responsible and concerned business owner. It’s also a megaphone that ensures your voice is heard by government. As a member of a network, you have an opportunity to socialize with decision makers who buy the products and services you offer — and, perhaps most importantly, it’s an opportunity to build your brand.
- Be a sponsor: Get your name and brand in front of people. Show them you support your association and your industry. Your name and logo make an impression on thousands of eyes.
- Advertise in Building Barometer: When you enter a new market, how will they know you are in business? An ad (or flyer insert) in Building Barometer is the fastest and most efficient way to get your name, brand and services in front of each and every TBBA member. As a new member, you can advertise for as little as $100 a month. Plus, if you place a quarter-page or larger ad for six months or more, our company will design your ad for free. And finally,
- Have a simple, easy-to-manage plan for marketing: It might be collecting business cards at TBBA events and following up with a note, email or phone call; it might be direct mail; it might be writing a regular column for Building Barometer in your field of expertise; or it might be hosting an event for the entire association. Like advertising in Building Barometer, your product, service and budget will determine if you go big or go small. Cost-effective is the key. Consistency and multiple impressions over time are what build your brand.
