Education - Home
TBBA is proud to offer educational programs designed to give those who attend the competitive edge needed to succeed in the building industry. A combination of continuing education and designation courses are made available on an ongoing basis as a service to our members and to non-members as well.
Other areas of education that the Tampa Bay Builders Association has placed it’s focus is with the Future Builders of America, Project Craft and Project Trade. These organizations play a huge part in the future of the building industry.
CAPS Courses Being Offered at TBBA
Mark your calendars and register now for the Certified Aging-In-Place (CAPS) courses that will be offered here at the Tampa Bay Builders Association on March 13 and March 14, 2008.
The CAPS I course that will be offered on March 13, 2008 is titled, “Marketing & Communications Strategies for Aging & Accessibility.” This course provides a detailed background on the older adult population; common remodeling expenditures and projects needed for this market; and successful communication techniques. Participants also learn how to reach this specialized market. This course is approved for designation credit for CAPS and MCSP, and continuing education credit for CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGR, GMB, and CSP.
The second course in the CAPS designation series is the CAPS II course titled, “Design/Build for Aging & Accessibility”, and this course will be held on March 14, 2008. This course provides information on the codes and standards, common barriers and solutions as well as product ideas and resources for the aging-in-place market. This course is approved for designation for CAPS and MCSP and continuing education credit for CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGR, GMB, CSP, Master CSP, CMP and MIRM.
Baby boomers will reach retirement age in the beginning of the 21st century and they are choosing to remodel their homes in order to be able to continue to live in a familiar environment. CAPS professionals are trained in techniques to enable people to stay in their homes in their latter years by designing and building barrier-free living environments that are aesthetically pleasing. Do not miss the opportunity to earn this timely and valuable designation.
