President's Message

Having experienced over the last few years the strength of our association on many levels and the strong sense of support, dedication, and encouragement that our membership provides, it is my honor to serve as your 2008 TBBA President. I am looking forward to the next twelve months of service.

I would first like to thank all of the past presidents that I have been associated with and been able to learn from with their successes. They all have contributed a great deal of time as well as provided such phenomenal leadership that because of them the Association has experienced a tremendous amount of exposure regionally, state wide and nationally. Due to the TBBA’s past leadership, collectively they have raised the standards of accomplishments for all local associations to model for years to come.

We are set for a great year in 2008. As Jeff Ewing led the association during this past year through some challenging times, he was nevertheless able to do so with great ease and ability while guiding me and preparing me for this upcoming year. It is very important that we continue to build on the strong foundations that have been set in place and continue to be the association that people turn to for guidance and leadership in this ever changing economy.

This year will provide many challenges to our industry that will need to be met aggressively head on. The association staff led by Joseph Narkiewicz is second to none. They will continue to be the key to our success in getting our message out on the many issues we will face. Every year we focus on membership and this year will be no different. In fact, I expect, with the great leadership we have within our membership committee, that this year will be the year the TBBA is the number 1 Association in the state. Our strengths and leadership in the governmental affairs arena will no doubt continue to ensure us a seat at the table and that our voice is always heard. This will be very important given the issues of Hometown Democracy, Inclusionary Zoning and other concurrency issues.

These next twelve months will be exciting and with your experience, time, and hard work we will continue to make this association the best in the state.
